Cooling device and method

The device has a heat dissipation unit (7) including an inlet and an outlet for a liquid or a gaseous medium. A channel includes an air inlet (9) and an air outlet (10), where air passes through the channel. The dissipation unit is positioned in the channel. A nozzle (12) is provided in the channel before the dissipation unit in an air flow direction, and introduces water into the channel in drops using an evaporation enthalpy of the water. A heat absorption unit (6) is connected with the inlet and the outlet of the dissipation unit by forming a closed cooling circuit.
