FLAME RETARDANT COMPOSITION COMPRISING MAGNESIUM HYDROXIDE APPLICATION TO FIBER AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A flame retardant composition is provided to form a flame retardant resin by flame retardancy of magnesium hydroxide for fiber and low heat generation in combustion compared to phosphorous-based flame retardant resins. CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing a flame retardant composition using magnesium hydroxide for fibers comprises the steps of: (i) injecting alkylester and diol in a transesterification reactor and stirring them to prepare PET; and (ii) adding magnesium hydroxide to the PET and stirring the mixture in two-stage reactor; additionally (iii) adding one or more kinds selected from surface modifiers or additives to a flame retardant resin manufactured in (ii) step.
