PURPOSE: A mobile communication terminal is provided to detect motion using an inertia sensor, and to control operation of a mute function by using the detected signal. CONSTITUTION: An inertia sensor(140) detects motion of a main body of a terminal. A control part controls operation of a mute function through a sensor signal corresponding to the motion of the main body of a terminal detected by the inertia sensor. A proximity sensor is mounted to the main body of a terminal. The proximity sensor senses a distance between a transmitter and a user of a mobile communication terminal.
