PURPOSE: A worm shaft shock absorbing structure for a steering device is provided to efficiently absorb shock power by using materials which are elastically deformable by axial and vertical load delivered through a worm shaft and bearing members. CONSTITUTION: A worm shaft shock absorbing structure for a steering device includes a worm shaft(20), an elastic member, a covering member(210), a plate member(220). The worm shaft is positioned to be engaged with a worm wheel in a housing(10) in a rotatable manner. The bearing members(40, 50) at both ends of the worm shaft support rotation. The elastic member is made of materials which are elastically deformable by axial and vertical load and is positioned to surround the outer ring area of bearing members on one side. The covering member is fixed to a raised spot inside the housing, and positioned to surround one side of the elastic member. The plate member is positioned to surround the other side of the elastic member.
