[Class 20(i)] A cloche comprises two side walls 1 arranged to be self-supporting in or on the ground and two roof sections 4 hinged to the side walls so that they may take up a position in which they form a roof or part of a roof or may lie flat against the walls to expose the area inside the cloche. The wall frames 1 may be joined at each end by roof trusses 2, Fig. 1. Lugs 3 welded to the frames 1 have apertures to accommodate hinge pins on the roof sections 4. These sections may be in two or more portions hinged together. An alternative form of lug 3a, Figs. 3a, 3b, has an inverted Y-shaped slot 5 which enables the roof section 4 to take up either of the two positions already mentioned (indicated in broken line) or to form the roof of a laterally adjacent cloche (as indicated in bold lines). Two cloches may be joined in longitudinal alignment by means of an inverted channel-shaped roof truss 7, Fig. 3b, having forked ends which are screwed to the side frame members 1. The cloche shown in Fig. 4 has end frames 8 comprising members 8a, b, c, d, e, screwed or welded together. and an intermediate transverse frame member having only the parts 8c. 8e. Roof sections 4, one of which is shown turned down, are hinged to apertured lugs 3b A ridge member 9 is formed of two angle irons welded together along their apices, their ends being turned outwardly and welded to the end members 8. Four C-shaped brackets 10 are welded to the ridge 9 and serve to retain removable roof frames 4a which can hinge about the brackets. The frames 4a are retained in the open position by hinged brackets 12. |
