<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phosphor, a light-emitting diode, and a method for manufacturing a phosphor, which provide better illumination environment or can broaden the color reproduction range. <P>SOLUTION: A recess 1a provided on the upper part of a lead frame 1 has a GaN-based compound semiconductor as a light-emitting layer; and an LED chip 2 that emits blue light is adhered and fixed by die bonding. In the recess 1a, a sealing part 5 is formed which is excited by light of 430 to 550 nm in wavelength, and is obtained by mixing a phosphor 7 whose composition is represented by (Ba<SB POS="POST">a</SB>, Sr<SB POS="POST">b</SB>, Ca<SB POS="POST">c</SB>, Mg<SB POS="POST">d</SB>, Zr<SB POS="POST">x</SB>)<SB POS="POST">2(1-z)</SB>SiO<SB POS="POST">4</SB>Cl<SB POS="POST">y</SB>:Eu<SB POS="POST">2z</SB>in an epoxy resin, wherein the molecular ratio has relationships of a+b+c+d+x=1, 0.001≤x≤0.1, 0.001≤y≤0.1 and 0.02≤2z<0.6. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
