<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rack and pinion type steering apparatus that inhibits vibrations/noises of the apparatus by providing a rolling bearing with small axial backlash in a large load capacity at an area where thrust load in a pinion shaft or a rack shaft is put, and reducing teeth striking sound of pinion/rack teeth. <P>SOLUTION: In a rack and pinion type steering apparatus 3 in which a steering wheel is operated by converting rotation of a pinion shaft 5 into reciprocating motion of a rack 7 which engages with a pinion 8 formed on the pinion shaft 5, the pinion shaft 5 is rotatably supported to a housing 11 by a conical rolling bearing 9. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
