A system and a method for providing a premium SMS for urgent transmission are provided to enable a premium SMS subscriber to check a transmitted short message, easily and rapidly, when a mobile communication terminal of the premium SMS subscriber can not receive a call. A system for providing a premium SMS for urgent transmission comprises a caller side mobile terminal(100), a transmitting side MSC(Mobile Switching Center)(200), an HLR(Home Location Register)(300), an SMSC(Short Message Service Center)(400), a premium server for urgent transmission(500), a receipt side MSC(600) and a callee side mobile terminal(700). The caller side mobile terminal enables a caller to input content of a short message and a phone number of a callee. The transmitting side MSC is connected to the caller side mobile terminal and requests information on the callee side mobile terminal(700) to the HLR. The HLR includes a database storing information on a position and a state of the mobile terminals(100,700) and information on subscription for the premium service for urgent transmission, and transmits the information on the callee side mobile terminal to the MSCs(200,600) at the MSCs' request. The SMSC transmits the short message, received from the caller side mobile terminal, to the premium server for urgent transmission or the callee side mobile terminal at the transmitting side MSC's request. The premium server for urgent transmission stores short messages transmitted when the callee side mobile terminal can not receive a call. The receipt side MSC transmits the short message, received from the SMSC, to the callee side mobile terminal. The callee side mobile terminal displays the short message received from the SMSC for enabling a callee to check it. |
