<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of highly accurately controlling a bias (voltage) applied to a transfer roller and an electrifying roller, without increasing cost. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes a control part controlling a voltage application part, based on the detection result of a current detection part detecting a current flowing in a member related to the formation or transfer of an image, in such a manner that the voltage is applied to the member. The control part controls the voltage application part, so as to apply the voltage of a different voltage value to the member at the timing of locating each of a plurality of non-image areas where the image is not formed in a transfer part, to calculate the impedance characteristic of the member from the detection result of the current detection part at the timing of locating each of the plurality of non-image areas in the transfer part and to decide the voltage value of the voltage applied to the member by the voltage application part at the timing of locating an image area where the image is formed in the transfer part, based on the impedance characteristic. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
