PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical element for photovoltaic power generator with excellent weatherability, manufacturing method therefor, and concentrating type photovoltaic power generator.

SOLUTION: The optical element 4 for concentrating type photovoltaic power generator is composed of glass material with a flame-polished surface 40. The glass material has a pair of end faces and a pair of side faces opposing to each other, and at least a part of the side faces are flame-polished.
