<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an erroneous detection of the size of a medium using a simple configuration. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus (U) includes: end contact members (18, 19, 62), each of which is supported to be movable in direction to contact/separate with/from the side end of the medium (S) stored in a medium container (1), and which can contact with the side end of the medium (S); reading members (SN1, SN2) which are provided in the body (U1) of the image forming apparatus, and are arranged opposed to the medium container (1) with a gap therebetween; operative association parts (43, 71) with images (51, 81) provided thereon, respectively, and also, which place the images (51, 81) for specifying the size of the medium (S) corresponding to the positions of the end contact members (18, 19, 62) opposite to the reading members (SN1, SN2) with a gap therebetween, in operative association with the movement of the end contact members (18, 19, 62); and a medium determination means (C5) which determines the size of the medium based on the read images (51, 81). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
