<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deterioration in yield. <P>SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device comprises: a first substrate including a common electrode formed in an active area displaying an image, an insulation film covering the common electrode, and a pixel formed on the insulation film, facing the common electrode, and having a slit; a second substrate disposed to face the first substrate; a liquid crystal layer held between the first substrate and the second substrate; an optical element with a first linear expansion coefficient disposed on an outer surface of the second substrate in accordance with the active area and having a conductive layer on its surface; an electrode pad formed in an extension part of the first substrate that extends outward beyond an end of the second substrate; and a connection member with a second linear expansion coefficient for electrically connecting the electrode pad and the conductive layer of the optical element and having a larger absolute value than the absolute value of the first linear expansion coefficient. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
