<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make an application independently operating without being connected with broadcasting content and communication content be executed in a receiver. <P>SOLUTION: A list processing section receives an AIT list in which location information on an application information table (AIT) of applications independently operating without being connected with broadcasting content and communication content are stored. A video display section displays information on each application stored in the AIT list. An operation input section accepts selection from the applications displayed in the video display section. An AIT acquisition section receives an AIT of the selected application on the basis of the location information. An application control section designates execution of the application according to the AIT received by the AIT acquisition section.
