The invention relates to a position-adjustable vehicle component which includes an inclination sensor (4) for detecting an orientation of the vehicle component and for orienting the vehicle component in a vehicle (1) on the basis of measurement signals recorded by means of the inclination sensor (4). The invention further relates to a method for orienting such a position-adjustable vehicle component in a vehicle (1), wherein by means of the inclination sensor (4) an orientation of the vehicle component is detected and a deviation of the detected orientation from a desired orientation is reduced.
