Battery lamps.-An electric hand lamp having an accumulator for the source of current is provided with terminals k, l for recharging the accumulator in position. These terminals are exposed for use by opening the door b which gives access to the complete side of the accumulator c. The door is adapted to open on a longitudinal axis and to be secured by a spring catch. The charging sockets k, l, are preferably of different diameters or otherwise adapted for obtaining the appropriate recharging connections. A stud o is provided on the battery which engages a slot in the case so that it can only be inserted in one position whereby reversal of the accumulator on charging is prevented. A charging resistance is placed in the positive charging lead having a short circuiting switch to allow the state of charge of the accumulator to be tested by the lamp r. A charging lead is provided having a lamp in one plug wired in series. The correctness of the polarity can he detected by the intensity of illumination of the lamp. |
