PURPOSE: A component cell base station and operation method thereof are provided to reduce the repetition rate of handover by managing a plurality of component cells using one PCI(Physical Cell Identity). CONSTITUTION: A plurality of component cells(320,330,340,350) include each RF(Radio Frequency) sub-system. A PCI management unit(360) constructs PCI. The PCI includes a plurality of component cells. A resource control unit(310) allocates wireless resources to each component cell included in the PCI. Each component cell receives or transmits data to a portable terminal within a coverage using the allocated wireless resources.
