<p>An apparatus 100 configured to provide an acoustic barrier between an offshore pile 200 and a surrounding body of water 500 during deployment of a pile 200 from the water surface 310 and securing it into the seabed 300, as well as a method of use thereof. In some examples, the invention relates to a guide apparatus 110. The claimed apparatus comprises a dampening structure (1800 figure 9), arranged to provide an acoustic barrier between a pile 200 and a surrounding body of water 500, wherein said dampening structure (1800 figure 9) comprises one or more dampening segments (3013, figure 10). These segments (3013, figure 10). are composed of a number or plurality of layers or sheets or spaces, and may comprise a number or plurality of discrete layers or sheets (3015 figure 19a) and any said spaces may be filled with a fluid or gas.</p> |
