Disclosed is a liquid crystal display device wherein a problem of having a possibility of scratching a polarization film in the manufacture steps, i.e., from the step of forming a module to the step of manufacturing a final product, is eliminated. Also disclosed is a method for manufacturing the liquid crystal display device. In the liquid crystal display device (1), a protection film (4) is bonded to the polarization film (3) such that the four corners (end portions) of the protection film (4) are positioned further inside of the polarization film (3) than the four corners (end portions) of the polarization film (3), more specifically, the width (W0) is 6-11 mm corresponding to the width (size) of the frame (5). Thus, a gap (W1) of 1 mm is formed between the frame (5) and the end portion of the protection film (4). Therefore, in the manufacture steps, i.e., the steps to the step of manufacturing the final product after being subjected to various assembly steps, a state wherein the protection film (4) is bonded to the polarization film (3) can be maintained, and the protection film (4) can be removed from the polarization film (3) at the end of the manufacture steps. |
