PURPOSE: A cover plate fastener for a shopping cart with a plastic basket is provided to firmly attach a supporting shaft and to have a high supporting force against a load when impact is applied to the supporting shaft. CONSTITUTION: A cover plate fastener for a shopping cart with a plastic basket comprises a handle member(120) and a frame(130). The handle member has side frames coupled to both sides of a basket at the rear of the basket. The frame has a caster which is coupled at the bottom of the basket to move. Both ends of a screw shaft(145a) of a supporting shaft(145) are inserted in through-holes formed on the vertical bars(134) of the frame to rotatably couple a cover plate(140). In the fastener, supporting units(1) having high supporting force to prevent damages and deformation formed on one side of the side frame and on both ends of the supporting shaft.
