<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device whose body can be miniaturized. <P>SOLUTION: A stirring screw 22 transfers developer to the negative direction side of an x-axis direction in a stirring space Sp1 while stirring the developer. A stirring screw 24 transfers the developer to the negative direction side of the x-axis direction in the stirring space Sp1 while stirring the developer. A conveying screw 26 transfers the developer to the positive direction side of the x-axis direction in a transfer space Sp2. A developing roller 28 is located on the positive direction side of the conveying screw 26 in a y-axis direction in the transfer space Sp2, and is a developer carrier that extends in the x-axis direction and supports the developer transferred by the conveying screw 26.
