<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for generating azimuth or locus data of a portable device. <P>SOLUTION: A 3-axis acceleration sensor 12 is disposed so that 3 axes are parallel to the 3 axes of a geomagnetic sensor 14. A signal processing unit 20 receives an output S1 from the geomagnetic sensor 14 and an output S2 from the acceleration sensor 12. The signal processing unit 20 determines, among the 3 axes of the acceleration sensor 12, the axis having a largest component as a vertical axis, and calculates the orientation of a portable device 1 by using the outputs of the 2 axes of the geomagnetic sensor 14 corresponding to the other 2 axes. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
