<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable device and a method for controlling the same which are capable of appropriately controlling display operation of a display unit in accordance with a gripping attitude of the portable device. <P>SOLUTION: The portable device comprises: a display unit 50; a contact detection unit 70 for detecting contact of the portable device with a housing; an inclination detection unit 80 for detecting an inclination of the portable device with respect to the direction of gravity; and a control unit 40 for controlling display operation of the display unit 50 on the basis of detection results of the contact detection unit and the inclination detection unit. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
