<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an electric rotary machine for a vehicle which reduces heat generation of an IC regulator and simplifies and downsizes a structure of a heat sink and thereby ensuring an alternator interior space. <P>SOLUTION: In an electric rotary machine for a vehicle having a brush holder including an IC regulator and a heat sink for cooling the IC regulator, ventilation holes, passing axial intake air from the exterior of an alternator to the interior, are included in the heat sink and the brush holder.
