<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the usability of a printer. <P>SOLUTION: The printer includes a printing and conveying unit, an error detection means, a reception means, and a restarting means. The printing and conveying unit executes the printing and conveying operation for conveying paper sheets, and printing the paper sheets. The error detection means detects errors on the printing and conveying operation according to the preset error detection condition. The reception means interrupts the printing and conveying operation and receives the change of the error detection condition when the error detection means detects the error.
