<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an LED device which has a high light extraction efficiency and allows light to be emitted in one direction, thereby obtaining bright light used for illumination, and which has no problem of deterioration and discoloration of a seal material and an internal metal member, and has excellent reliability and durability, the LED device having no problem of damage to a seal material layer during assembly of the device, and having no problem of stickiness of the seal material surface, and the LED device being easy to manufacture. <P>SOLUTION: An LED device 10 includes: a concave-type package 1; an LED element 3 stored in a concave part 2 of the concave-type package 1; and a fluorescent body 4 and a seal material 5 that are loaded in the concave-type package 1.
