<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stereoscopic image display device and a driving method of the stereoscopic image display device capable of suppressing the influence of a reverse view when displaying a stereoscopic image. <P>SOLUTION: A stereoscopic image display device comprises an image display part that can display a parallax image, an optical component that makes the parallax image perceived as a stereoscopic image, and a backlight part disposed on a back side of the image display part. The backlight part comprises a first illumination part for illuminating the image display part at a first emission angle and a second illumination part for illuminating the image display part at a second emission angle that is narrower than the first emission angle. The first illumination part and the second illumination part are switched between when a plane image is displayed by the image display part and when a stereoscopic image is displayed by the image display part and the optical component. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
