<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a decrease in a secondary transfer rate despite the variation in respective resistance values due to environment of a secondary transfer opposite roller (repulsive roller) arranged on the inside of an intermediate transfer belt, the intermediate transfer belt, or a secondary transfer roller arranged on the outside of the intermediate transfer belt, despite the difference in resistance values according to the type of a recording medium, or despite the variation in resistance value due to environment of a recording medium; and to improve a secondary transfer rate in concave portions of a recording medium having deep concave-convex shapes such as an embossed sheet. <P>SOLUTION: During the execution of secondary transfer, a DC bias having the same polarity as the toner image and subjected to constant current control is applied to the inner peripheral surface of an intermediate transfer body, and an alternating electric field is formed between the intermediate transfer body and a recording medium at the same time. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
