<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device capable of, when abnormality occurs in one phase in a three-phase electric motor, continuing motor drive using remaining two phases without deteriorating a steering feeling. <P>SOLUTION: When abnormality in energization is detected in the drive system of one phase out of respective phase coils by an abnormality detection means, a phase current command value in abnormality for use of coils of remaining two phases is calculated by a motor command value in abnormality calculation means 34 based on a steering assist current command value Iref, and the three-phase electric motor 12 is driven based on the phase current command value in abnormality.
