<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a card reader capable of preventing skimming and reducing cost even when the reader has plural magnetic heads mounted therein. <P>SOLUTION: A magnetic head 4 and a magnetic head 5 mounted in a card reader are connected to each other with a flexible cable 6. The magnetic head 4 is an encryption head for outputting an encrypted signal, and the magnetic head 5 is a non-encryption head for outputting a non-encrypted signal. The flexible cable 6 is formed in a multilayer structure including a data signal layer for transmitting the non-encrypted signal from the magnetic head 5 and disconnection detection signal layers for covering the front and rear surfaces of the data signal layer. One end of the flexible cable 6 is formed with a terminal covering portion 6b fixed so as to cover signal terminals 20 of the magnetic head 5. The other end of the flexible cable 6 is connected to a substrate 13. The magnetic head 4 encrypts the non-encrypted signal from the magnetic head 5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
