<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gusset-like sheet opening apparatus for bag body formation, which can accurately control the position of a sheet for bag body formation, and can reliably open the sheet; and to provide a bag laying apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: In order to solve the problems, the gusset-like sheet opening apparatus 1 opens a gusset-like sheet x for bag body formation being folded into a band shape by folding both side sections of a cylindrical plastic film inward. The gusset-like sheet opening apparatus 1 includes a guide group having four sets of a pair which has an internal surface guiding member 3 and an external surface guiding member 2, wherein the internal surface guiding member 3 and the external surface guiding member 2 are installed at specified intervals. In this case, the internal surface guiding member 3 comes into contact with the internally folded surface x1 of the gusset-like sheet x from the inside of the cylinder; and the external surface guiding member 2 comes into contact with a surface x2 which is not the internally folded surface of the gusset-like sheet x from the inside of the cylinder.
