<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact, simple structure pump having a large generated pressure per unit occupied area in a channel. <P>SOLUTION: A pump includes: a channel for transporting a liquid containing an electrolytic solution; a pair of electrodes which are disposed in the channel, and apply an electric field along a transportation direction of the liquid; and a conductive member which is disposed connectedly to one of the pair of electrodes, and is in contact with the liquid in the channel. The conductive member includes a side wall part to locally branch a flow of the liquid in the channel. The conductive member disposed connectedly to the one of the pair of electrodes is comprised of a polyhedron or columnar body having a convex shape with respect to a direction of the electrode to which the conductive electrode is not connected. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
