<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suitably suppress an influence on a network upon switching redundant configurations in a communication system comprising the redundant configurations. <P>SOLUTION: A communication system comprises: a communication unit which performs at least one of transmission, reception and relay of communication packets; and a first control unit and a second control unit which are redundant and can individually control the communication unit. One of the first control unit and second control unit is set as an active system, and the other one is set as a standby system. The communication system calculates a traffic index value for each preset period on the basis of a traffic amount of protocol packets during a predetermined period among communication packets processed by the communication unit, and automatically switches between the active system and the standby system at predetermined timing on the basis of the calculated traffic index value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
