The unit (1) has a frame (3) defining a housing (4) for accommodating a central case, and a pair of supports (5) facing the housing on opposite sides for supporting side cases. A control actuator (6) is provided in front of each of the supports for moving the corresponding side case and fitting the central case, in front of opposite side walls, with the side cases so as to obtain a forced consecutive package of the cases. The actuator includes a movable piston (7) to control rotation of a support arm (9) of the corresponding side case.
