The portion has switching gearings (24, 32) arranged in contact with each other in an axial switching position of a sliding sleeve (20). A brake ring supports multiple axial spring tongues (42) that are engaged in corresponding axial grooves (13) of a shaft (10) i.e. reverse gear-intermediate shaft, in a torque-proof and axially-displaced manner. The ring comprises spring ramps (421) i.e. twin ramps, which serve as shearing force-dependant overbearing resistors for the sleeve co-axially displaced over the tongues. Braking surfaces (332, 411) of idle gears are coated with a friction lining.
