Provided is a plug that can be manufactured without carrying out complex alignment. A plug (10) is provided on one end of an optical fiber (50) and attached/detached to/from a receptacle. A metal cover (18) is mated to the receptacle. A ferrule (17) is formed integrally with the metal cover (18) and supports the optical fiber (50). An optical element module (14) includes an photoelectric conversion element (12) optically connected with the optical fiber (50) and a substrate (13) on which the photoelectric element (12) is mounted. The optical element module (14) is pressure fit in a space (Sp) formed by the metal cover (18) and the ferrule (17).
