CONSTITUTION: A reinforcement method for a steel structure using the normal component of force is as follows. A beam(200) is installed between column members(100). Tendons(300) are installed through the flanges(110) of the column members and the upper and lower flanges(210,230) of the beam. A slab(40) is formed by placing slab concrete on the top of the beam to bury the tendons in the slab concrete. The other ends of the tendons are tensioned at the inner surfaces of the flanges of the column members and anchored.
