<p>A system and method for associating installation scopes to facilitate updating instances of native resources, is shown and described. A first application executes within a first isolation environment, and a third application within a second isolation environment. A request for a native resource is intercepted, where the native resource can be used in a third application that is associated with a third installation scope located within the second isolation environment. A failure to locate the native resource within the third installation scope leads to determining an association between the third installation scope and a second installation scope that represents an image of a second application. An instance of the request native resource that is located within the second installation scope is retrieved, updated and returned to the second installation scope. Another request to retrieve the native resource is intercepted. This request is sent by the first application associated with a first installation scope located within the first isolation environment. A failure to locate, within the first installation scope, a native resource that corresponds to the requested native resource causes a determination to be made as to whether or not an association between the first installation scope and the second installation scope exists. If such an association exists, then an instance of the updated native resource located within the second installation scope and is retrieved and returned to the first application.</p> |
