PURPOSE: Penicillum of a strain capable of producing cellulose is provided to biodegrade Empty Fruit Bunch and be used in paper manufacturing, paper pulp, detergent, bio material and to use Empty Fruit Bunch as the source of low-priced carbon as a by-product of palm oil production for cost-effective and high-priced cellulase. CONSTITUTION: A strain, Penicillium verruculosum COKE4E(KCTC 11897BP), produces cellulase. Penicillium verruculosum has 26s rDNA base sequence of the sequence number 1(SEQ ID NO:1). Penicillium verruculosum has 5.8S rDNA base sequence of the sequence number 2. Cellulase, xylanase or avicelase are used as cellulose. A method of producing cellulase from the strain, Penicillium verruculosum comprises a step to cultivate the strain in Penicillium verruculosum(a) and a step to obtain cellulase in the cultivated strain or a culture medium(b). Carboxymethyl cellulose, abicel, xylan or palm berries is cultivated as a sole carbon source. The Penicillium verruculosum COKE4E(KCTC 11897BP) strain, the crushed material, the culture medium or the produced cellulase is used to biodegrade cellulase. |
