PURPOSE: A cellulose acetate optical film with high retardation value in thickness direction is provided to increase optical property and phase difference, thereby improving viewing angle and contrast of VA mode LCD panel. CONSTITUTION: A cellulose acetate optical film includes one or more additives selected from a compound represented by chemical formula 1. The chemical formula 1 is as follows: Ar-[Q]m. In the chemical formula 1, Ar is (C6-C20) aryl or (C3-C20) heteroaryl. However, one or more ortho position of Q is substituted with OR is excluded. Here, R is hydrogen or (C1-C10) alkyl, Q is *-(A)n-C(R3)=N-N(R4)-C(=X)-Z, and m is an integer of 1-10. The composition for the optical film includes 1-15 parts by weight of a compound of chemical formula 1 based on 100.0 parts by weight of base resin.
