PURPOSE: A method for automatic search and treatment for the steel member of a ship is provided to prevent steel member loss expenses occurring from worker's mistake. CONSTITUTION: A method for automatic search and treatment for the steel member of a ship comprises the steps of: making a structure drawing per a structure(S210); executing a ship body modeling(S220); extracting the shape of a member by execution of a ship member information management program installed in HIBS DB(Hull Information Bank System Database)(S230); executing a nesting on the extracted member(S240); executing an optimized nesting per thickness, material, and assembly series(S250); and checking an unnecessary scrap per each drawing with a steel member search program and optimally revising an order size by automatically reducing members which have scrap(S260).
