The diffuser (11) has a coupling region that is allowed to undergo vibration at a fundamental frequency of excitation to induce a resonance effect on the diffuser. One of resonant frequencies of the diffuser is equal to a harmonic of nth order of the fundamental frequency of excitation in which the number n is an integer less than or equal to 5. The thickness of the diffuser lies between 0.6 mm and 2.4 mm, and frequency of resonance is equal to third order harmonics. An independent claim is also included for a sound-signaling hooter.
