<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform focusing in an excellent state even when the ratio of noise contained in an imaging signal is increased. <P>SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes: focus evaluation value calculation means for extracting a specified frequency component from the imaging signal and calculating a focus evaluation value showing contrast of the imaging signal; focusing degree calculation means for calculating a focusing degree showing the degree of focusing using the focus evaluation value; shape prediction means for predicting the shape of the peak of the focus evaluation value using change amount for every fixed period of the focus evaluation value; and focus speed setting means for setting driving speed of a focus lens on the basis of the focusing degree calculated by the focusing degree calculation means and the result by the shape prediction means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
