Provided is an organic thin-film light-emitting element having improved light-emission efficiency, drive voltage, and durability life. The light-emitting element comprises at least a hole transport layer and an electron transport layer between an anode and a cathode, and emits light by electric energy. The light-emitting element is characterized by: the hole transport layer including a compound having a triphenylene skeleton; and the electron transport layer including a compound having a phenanthroline skeleton.
