The element (11) has two radial pre-tensioned inner sealing rings (12, 13) biasing against a shaft (8) and assigned with respective sealing diaphragms (17, 18), where the diaphragms have different outer diameters and are spaced from each other. Radial outer seal lips of the sealing diaphragms act in a same axial direction. The sealing rings are connected with each other by a circulating cuff (23) which extends in an axial direction, where the circulating cuff is formed as a diaphragm (19) and extends in a plane of one of the sealing rings in a convex curve. An independent claim is also included for an arrangement for a shaft of a steering.
