PURPOSE: A composition containing abalone extract is provided to ensure antioxidation activity without safety and side effects and to be used in a cosmetic product and health foods. CONSTITUTION: A cosmetic composition for skin aging contains abalone extract as an active ingredient. Abalone includes Haliotis discus hannai, H. gigantean, H. discus, H. sieboldii, or H. diversicolor superfextra. The abalone extract is prepared by extracting abalone intestine or muscle using hexane, ethyl acetate, 25-100% ethanol, and distilled water in order. The abalone extract is prepared by extracting abalone intestine or muscle using methanol and fractioning the methanol extract with hexane, ethyl acetate, and butanol in order.
