A method and apparatus to continually align the blades of a vertical axis wind turbine to take into account differences in wind speed and resultant forces thereby exerted on the structure by separately varying the resistive load on each of the blade configurations supporting hubs, bearing supports or generators and/or by creating drag through aerodynamic spoilers mounted on the supporting arms or blades.
