<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator which includes an illumination means for illuminating the inside of a storage chamber and in which the food housed in the storage chamber is hardly abutted on the illumination means and which has an excellent thermal insulating effect. <P>SOLUTION: The refrigerator includes: a thermal insulation box body which is formed to have a box-like shape while arranging a thermal insulation member between an outer box and an inner box and in which the storage chamber is formed in the inner box; and the illumination means for illuminating the inside of the storage chamber.
