<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass substrate for a cover glass for a mobile terminal device having very high strength even if thin. <P>SOLUTION: The glass substrate 1 for a cover glass for a mobile terminal device has a primary surface that has a compressive stress layer 1a containing potassium ions by chemical strengthening, and is used to protect the display screen of the mobile terminal device. The glass substrate 1 has the compressive stress layer 1a in which potassium ions are contained at a concentration of ≤5,000 ppm in the primary surface. The glass substrate 1 is configured to have a thickness of 0.5 mm, and when a pressure is applied on the central part of the primary surface by an indenter while supporting the edge part of the outer periphery of the glass substrate 1, breaking load is ≥546 N. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
