<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hydrogen separation method which makes Nb, assumed to be not used, be used as a hydrogen separation membrane, and selectively separates the hydrogen from the hydrogen-containing gas. <P>SOLUTION: The method includes separating and purifying the hydrogen from a hydrogen-containing gas by using a hydrogen separation membrane comprising Nb membrane, where at (a) temperature T, the hydrogen pressure P of a hydrogen atmosphere to (b) Nb membrane and the hydrogen C dissolved in (c) Nb membrane are measured, and a PCT curve to which those three requirements are related based on the measured data of temperature T, hydrogen pressure P, and dissolved hydrogen C is made, and the use temperature and the hydrogen pressure conditions of a primary side and a secondary side are set by evaluating the limit dissolved hydrogen related to water resistance brittleness by obtaining the relationship between the dissolved hydrogen C and the brittle fracture of the Nb membrane based on the curve concerned PCT, and the hydrogen is separated from the hydrogen-containing gas under the setting conditions with the Nb membrane. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
