AUTHENTICATION SYSTEM AND AUTHENTICATION METHOD

[Problem] In an authentication system that uses sound to transmit a one-time password, to provide an authentication system in which authentication can be performed at high speed and at high accuracy. [Solution] This authentication system (1) is equipped with a mobile terminal (10), an authentication terminal (30), and an authentication server (50). The mobile terminal (10) is equipped with: a password generation section (21) that encrypts information including a password-generating user identifier issued by the authentication server (50), and that generates a one-time password; an encoding section (22) that encodes the one-time password and generates a baseband signal; a carrier wave generation section (23) that generates a carrier wave in an audible band; a modulation section (25) that modulates the carrier wave using the baseband signal and generates a modulated wave; and a speaker (17) that sends out the modulated wave as a sound wave. The one-time password is input from the mobile terminal (10) to the authentication terminal (30), in the form of a sound wave.
